Lead Instructors
Alex Morgan — Lead Teacher & Program Director
Alex has been teaching yoga for over a decade and has led teacher trainings across Canada and internationally. His approach is grounded, structured, and focused on one outcome: producing teachers who can actually teach.
He built BaliYTT around a competency-based model after seeing too many programs prioritize attendance over ability. His classes emphasize clear cueing, intelligent sequencing, and real-world teaching skills.
Alex’s background includes developing multiple yoga training programs, mentoring new teachers, and working with students from complete beginners to advanced practitioners.
He is known for direct feedback, practical teaching methods, and creating an environment where students improve quickly.
Sophie Laurent — Vinyasa & Teaching Methodology
Sophie specializes in vinyasa flow, class design, and teaching confidence.
Her background combines yoga, movement education, and group facilitation. She focuses on helping students find their voice as teachers while maintaining structure and clarity in their classes.
In training, Sophie works closely with students on:
- Sequencing that actually works
- Clear, natural cueing
- Building presence in front of a room
Her style is supportive but precise. Students leave her sessions knowing exactly what to improve and how to do it.
Daniel Reyes — Anatomy & Functional Movement
Daniel brings a practical, no-nonsense approach to anatomy.
Instead of memorizing terms, his teaching focuses on how the body actually moves in a yoga class. He helps students understand:
- Joint function
- Common movement patterns
- Injury prevention in real scenarios
With a background in fitness and rehabilitation-based training, Daniel bridges the gap between theory and application.
Students often say his sessions are where things finally “click.”
Maya Chen — Yin Yoga & Nervous System Work
Maya teaches yin yoga, breathwork, and nervous system regulation.
Her approach is calm, grounded, and focused on helping students understand the deeper side of practice without losing clarity.
In training, she covers:
- Yin postures and long holds
- Breath awareness
- Creating balanced classes
She brings a quieter, steady presence to the program, complementing the more dynamic teaching styles in the training.
Jordan Blake — Adjustments & Assists
Jordan focuses on hands-on adjustments, safety, and working with real students.
His sessions are highly practical. Students learn:
- When to assist (and when not to)
- How to read bodies in front of them
- Simple, effective physical cues
With years of experience teaching in studio environments, Jordan prepares students for what actually happens in a class—not just ideal scenarios.
Elena Rossi — Philosophy & Ethics
Elena teaches yoga philosophy in a way that’s relevant and grounded.
Rather than abstract discussions, she connects traditional concepts to modern teaching and real-life application.
Her sessions cover:
- Core philosophical ideas
- Ethics of teaching
- How philosophy shows up in class
Students leave with a clearer understanding of yoga beyond the physical practice, without it feeling disconnected or overly academic.
